Well, we promised a blog entry a week and while we don't have any major updates I am at liberty to chat about a couple more projects we're working on.
Our partners at Evolve itv have lined up a new project for us so we're about to get underway on a new site for MMA Worldwide, the mixed martial arts publication and fighting league. Their current site is looking a little old and tired, so we're going to be jazz-a-mattazzing (genuine industry term) their online identity and bringing it bang up to date. Think IGN or Gamespot and you'll be thinking along the right lines. It should be a pretty impressive project that will semantically link all the information about the fighters and bring them closer to the fans than they ever have been before. I don't think I'm overhyping it when I say that it will definitely be the best site on the Internet, for all time. Well... maybe I'm overhyping it a little. Exciting stuff indeed and a pretty colourful project for us.
In the UK we're starting a project with an embroidery and garment printing company called Blackjack Clothing, based in Essex. The USP of the site is that it's going to have a custom Flash application, where users can upload their own logo designs onto garment templates, position and resize them and save a picture of the result, sort of like a mini 'try-before-you-buy'. While they're not going to be selling online right now, the framework we're building for them is going to be modular enough to add in any extra features they need down the line.
Coming soon - the start of Tim's bi-weekly literary beat-down of some of the worst usability experiences we've ever seen. That's right Internet, we're not here to make friends! Bring it on!
